Mind Maps 1&2 - From the meeting room to the studio

MindMap1 Large scale doodles; from the meeting room to the studio. Working on transforming my doodles into art. I feel like I could do this forever but an put off by how much of this sort of graphic design is around in popular culture these days.I have 3 large 120cm w x 90cm h pieces on ply and a number of smaller versions all on board.   I am experimenting with colour and resin and I work towards finding out what it all means :)This series of triangulated Mind Maps, draw on my interest in:

  • data visualisation
  • digital subject - analogue representation methods
  • sculpture, structure and frameworks
  • The act of drawing as a process and a therapeutic one at that
  • The process drawings of artists like Sol Lewitt
  • maths and repetitive formulas and structures in nature
  • maps and topography
  • mental health

I apologise for the terrible photos.  They are very hard to capture and will require more than my mobile happy snaps when they are resolved.
