Sculpture By The Sea, Bondi, 2016

BYE GONE EMPIRE Today I got the call from Sculpture By The Sea to let me know that my work has been accepted for this years Bondi exhibition, for their 20th anniversary.I am really looking forward to getting the hand tools out and working in sandstone again.  There is something about the physical, primal-ness of it that serves my spirit well! Here is a sneak peak of what I am now in the process of creating, "Bye Gone Empire - a prophetic tale of impending doom told with contemporary glyphs"For this mock-up I used photoshop to manipulate an image of my 2013 work, "What Once Was".Sandstone block in shape of oversized app, engraved with anxious emoji. The sculpture resembles a tomstone half sunk in the earth.
